Carmen Brings Consumers and Producers Closer Together

Let's reconnect consumers and producers!

Carmen introduces us to SlowMov, a Spanish collaborative platform she created that puts local producers in contact with merchants directly. That way, customers can enjoy quality products that are manufactured responsibly. She mostly works with Arabica coffee producers and wants to raise awareness about issues relating to product identity, traceability and specially the manufacturing steps to encourage us to care about its origin.

When we become curious about the origin of our products, we start questioning mass consumption and turn our focus and support to artisanal and local productions in order to consume more responsibly.

Lucie, halfway between city and countryside

She said yes to agriculture in Paris!

Lucie puts all her energy into developing the urban farm of the REcylerie, a plural Parisian place that promotes ecology and sustainable development through workshops and events.

She also understands the importance of raising awareness among young people and hosts educational and playful workshops to help them realize how precious nature really is and therefore, it needs to be treated as such

She advocates for these natural spaces and the planet thanks her for it!

Diane and her Beehives

A rooftop that serves bees

Diane has always been passionate about bees. Participating in their preservation is crucial since 40% of our diet depends on their survival. That’s the reason why she decided to install beehives on the rooftop of her Parisian building to breed bees in a natural way. On a collective scale, this practice can have a real impact on the pollination and protection of this endangered species.

Noelia Celebrates Every Woman’s Beauty

Beauty without taboos

Noelia invites us to discover her creations that allow women who have been through a mastectomy to reclaim their body. This personal project came into being after she had a hard time rebuilding her self-confidence following her mammary ablation. She, among all women in this situation, wanted to feel attractive again and comfortable with her new body.

Through her lingerie collection, she celebrates every woman’s beauty and wants to show that regardless of the marks and scars left behind, diversity expresses physical beauty to a much greater degree.

Cécilia’s Belief: together, innovation knows no bounds

Better and greater together

Cécilia introduces us to her collaborative project that she developed 5 years ago in Barcelona. When she first moved here, she wanted to find a meeting place where she could create professional opportunities as well as come in contact with people. She then came up with Makers of Barcelona, a community in which everyone is free to come and work on their projects and participate in other ones.

The goal of this community is to build and grow self-esteem. Technological tools are made available to work and produce innovations. The community aspect is very important because by meeting new people, it’s possible to take part in new projects, discover talents that can support our ideas and expand our boundaries.

Getting Lost in Nature

We’re taking you on a reinvigorating walk around our grounds in La Gacilly, France. Let us guide you!

We're taking you on a reinvigorating walk around our grounds in La Gacilly, France. Let us guide you!

It starts in your room at the Yves Rocher Eco Hotel Spa with the first few rays of sunshine. You step outside on the balcony to admire the slow awakening of nature. What better way to start your day than listening to the sound of birds singing? And, at La Gacilly, there are more than just a few… No less than 72 bird species have been identified!

Everything has been thought of to attract them, from the creation of the hotel with the Ligue pour la Protection des Oiseaux (LPO), French equivalent of Birdlife International, in order to provide them with cozy little nests all over. And, since they are at the top of the food chain, they come with all types of butterflies, crickets, grasshoppers… A genuine refuge for biodiversity!

After a delicious, local and organic breakfast at the Les Jardins Sauvages restaurant, we wander around the botanical garden to discover some of its 1500 plant species. Plants used in the making of beauty products and perfumes as well as in the food and textile industries… We get to know all sorts of textures, scents and colors.

Then, in order to continue walking in harmony with nature, we guide our steps towards the 55 hectares of organic fields. A festival of bright colors awaits us: arnica, marigold, cornflower, camomile… There, we are introduced to Maya, one of the bees from over 270 beehives implanted throughout the crops. We take this opportunity to taste the La Gacilly honey with its floral notes from Camomile and Cornflower.

Finally, our walk wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t take the time to visit the outdoor photography exhibit throughout the La Gacilly village featuring works from African photographers that showcase the relationship between Man and animals.

Summer Legs

Want to show off beautifully tanned legs and feel pretty all summer long? Follow our beauty regimen.

The sun is out and so are skirts and sandals! Want to show off beautifully tanned legs and feel pretty to the tips of your toes all summer long? Follow our beauty regimen.

Show your skin some love

To get beautiful legs, here are the 3 golden rules: exfoliate, moisturize and beautify.

  • Start by getting rid of dead skin: scrub from the bottom up in circular motions, paying particular attention to your knees and feet.
  • Then, nourish your skin with a moisturizing cream, like the Lipid-Replenishing Lotion for example, to get radiant looking legs.
  • The sun has been playing hide and seek lately? Don’t fret! You can still get tanned legs with the Express Body Mist: summer glow guaranteed!

Stay firm

Another way to get smooth and toned legs: a massage. Among the recommended techniques is the palpate-roll maneuver, which consists of sliding the skin from the thigh towards the hip in between the tips of the thumb and the fingers. For specific areas, do circular motions for 3 minutes.

For even more effectiveness; combine this technique with products from the Global Silhouette line like the Refining & Firming Serum or the Cellulite Appearance Reducing Moisturizer. Then, take a shower, alternating between cold and warm water to improve blood circulation.

Fan out your toes

Going for a pedicure is a must to get your feet summer-ready! If you’d rather do your own pedicure at home, start with the Polishing Foot Scrub and follow up with the Nourishing Foot Cream, your feet will be oh so grateful!

Then, put your artistic talents to work to create a design befitting a queen. Are you in the mood for plain, patterns, shiny or matte? So many colors to choose from to celebrate the summer and match those cute new sandals you just bought!

The Botanical Color line has everything you need to make all your nail art dreams come true. You could even wear anklets and toe rings that will look perfect on your newly polished feet wherever this summer takes you!

Wake up with the sun

Starting your day with the sweet caress of the morning light helps focus on fully enjoying the present moment. And, to gently wake your body up, there’s nothing better than a few stretches to embrace this new day that’s already off to a promising start!

Reconnect with nature

Your body is made up of 65% water so what better way to reconnect with nature than listening to the sound of water lapping by the pool or the ocean? Swimming a few laps to feel reinvigorated and clear-minded or going on a bike ride for those who like to feel well-grounded. Everything becomes an excuse to go outside and get a big breath of fresh air, on our own terms.

Reach your inner self

An afternoon nap? Yes, but in a relaxing setting, on a large cushion with soft music playing in the background. Wake up gently and follow up with a yoga session to get in touch with your inner self. Pay attention to the present moment… an open window on the proper balance between the intelligence of the body, that of the heart and the wisdom of the spirit.

Letting go

A relaxing afternoon with some friends. How about going to the spa to let loose, escape and relax in the capable hands of our estheticians? Take full advantage of this special moment before going back home and maybe getting started on planning your next wellness day.

Naturally Beautiful

Adoptez nos conseils pour un été vitaminé et "sur"naturel !

During the summer, we tend to want a look that’s more natural. Discover our tips for a vitamin-filled and "super" natural summer.

Stock up on vitamins

Blend colorful fruits and veggies and drink up! They are the perfect solution to stock up on vitamins, minerals and carotenoid which do wonders for our health and skin. Did you know that oranges don’t have the monopoly on Vitamin C? This precious vitamin can also be found in some greens! So, get your fill this summer…

What’s the first step? Hydration!

We all know that water is essential to our health. The same goes for our skin: it’s the first step for it to be beautiful looking! That’s all the more true for skin exposed to the sun since it’ll need even more water…

There are two ways to moisturize your skin:  externally and internally.

Beauty products work on both levels with extracts as well as moisturizing and anti-dehydrating ingredients that strengthen the skin barrier. And so, for the best possible results, drinking lots of water or ice tea and eating fruits and vegetables with a high percentage of H2O goes a long way.

Did you know? Dehydrated skin lacks water while dry skin lacks oil.

Revealing your true nature

Let’s face it, our frantic lifestyles don’t always allow us to take the best care of our hair and skin. So, this summer, let’s simplify our beauty routine.

First, say goodbye to your hair dryer and let the air do all the work! When hair dries naturally, it looks beautifully healthy.

Second, make sure to protect your skin from sunburns; apply the SPF 30 Sunscreen Lotion.

Third, if you can’t help but reach for your makeup case, get ready to fall in love with the Waterproof 360° Length Mascara, it won’t let you down in or out of the water. No more panda eyes!

And then, finish up by putting on the Liquid Balm with cherry oil for lips that are as luscious as they are nourished.

Operation: Sun-kissed skin

This summer, I’m making it a point to take good care of my skin!

This summer, I'm spending my vacation down south! So this year, I'm making it a point to take good care of my skin and come back with a beautiful tan that'll last!

Getting Ready

A few weeks before my trip, I have so many things to do like getting that cute bikini I spotted in a store window, buying a travel guide to plan my vacation, preparing my skin for sun exposure by getting my fill of fruits and vegetables high in carotenoids. Every morning, I get my day off to a great start with a carrot-mango smoothie - see recipe. It does me a world of good and gives my skin a nice golden glow! My quick tip: I add a few drops of olive oil to make it easier for my system to absorb the beta-carotene.

And, to prepare my skin for the long hours I intend to spend sunbathing on the beach, I start applying the before sun Beautifying Mist Tan Activator, morning and evening, 3 weeks before I leave. For the best possible results, I make sure to bring the mist with me on vacation to use it during the first few days of sun exposure.

I'm finally here!

Best. Vacation. Ever! The weather has been absolutely beautiful and my days are spent basking in the sun without forgetting, of course, to protect my skin by applying the Solaire Peau Parfaite SPF 30 Sunscreen Lotion from head to toe, making sure that I don’t forget my ears, they can easily get sunburnt. The lotion protects my skin from harmful UVA/UVB rays. I reapply it every 2 hours to properly protect my skin, which I enjoy doing since I love its fresh texture.

Once I’m back from the beach, I remember to apply the Solaire Peau Parfaite Repair Moisturizing Lotion to soothe and moisturize my skin. It immediately soothes and lastingly moisturizes my skin. It seems plumped and repaired!

For beautifully radiant skin, my advice is to drink lots of water and eat fruits high in antioxidants like pomegranates.

Back to reality

Time to say goodbye to my sunny paradise… But there's no way I’m letting go of my tan anytime soon! To make it last longer, I exfoliate my skin with the apricot Botanical Scrub, twice a week and keep moisturizing regularly.

To give my skin an even more golden glow, I apply the Monoi de Tahiti Dry Body Oil and if I manage to make a few people jealous along the way well that’s just icing on the cake 😉

Do you have any other tips to get sun-kissed safely?

Beauty… foods?

A smoothie recipe to try!

To make my smoothie, I blend:

  • 3 small carrots
  • 1 mango
  • ¼ kohlrabi
  • A few spinach leaves

My quick tip: I add a few drops of olive oil to make it easier for my system to absorb beta-carotene.

Let us know in the comments if you try this recipe! What are your favorite smoothie flavors?
