ADAPTATION: THE GENIUS OF THE BOTANICAL<\/h3>\n

Native to the desert areas of southern Africa, the Ice Plant can adapt to extreme conditions<\/strong>. Over the centuries, it has spread as far as Australia, the American coast and the Mediterranean periphery.<\/p>\n

Contrary to other plants that carry an average of 2 sets of chromosomes, the Ice Plant has up to 128<\/strong>! It has such a complete set of genetic information that it has the power to adapt to every situation. This exceptional characteristic, called polyploidy, has facilitated over time its \"super adaptation\" on the metabolic, physiological and morphological levels<\/strong>. It resists, survives, lives. It is the Plant of Life<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

THE ORIGIN OF OUR PLANT<\/h3>\n

Adaptable, the Ice Plant<\/strong> can grow in all latitudes. This allows Yves Rocher to cultivate it on its own land in La Gacilly, France<\/strong>. It\u2019s the best way to study it, follow its growth and control its biological culture.<\/p>\n

Since 2008, agronomic and phytological studies have been conducted to determine the best growing conditions<\/strong> (watering, sowing density, sanding, etc.) and the optimal harvesting period<\/strong>. Result: the Ice Plant<\/strong> is sown in the spring and harvested around July, after a cultivation period of 10 to 13 weeks, when it is richest in compounds of interest.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Yves Rocher Research<\/strong> has developed and patented an exclusive process for the natural extraction<\/strong> of the Ice Plant<\/strong>: enzymatic cryoextraction<\/strong>. The plant is ground at a negative temperature (-70 \u00b0C\/-158 \u00b0F) to preserve the integrity of its active molecules.
