Sulfonated surfactants, also known as \u201csulfates<\/strong>\u201d, are cleansing agents that trap sebum and impurities to cleanse the scalp and hair fiber.<\/strong> Widely used in cleansing products like shampoo<\/strong><\/em><\/a> and shower gels<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, they boast excellent cleansing properties and promote significant foaming upon contact with water. HOW DO YOU RECOGNIZE THEM?<\/strong><\/h5>\n
Found on the ingredients list (INCI) of most conventional shampoos<\/strong>, they can be recognized under the names of Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) or Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate (ALS<\/strong>).<\/div>\n

However, when used in high doses, certain types of sulfates can irritate the scalp and weaken hair<\/strong>.
